Works with what you already have
What runs on Excel today
Turnover is above ₹1,000 Cr. Two boilers, 60 tonnes and 35 tonnes an hour, feed the wet mill and the dryers round the clock. Buyers range from a ₹20 lakh paper mill to a ₹70 Cr energy-drink brand, and each buyer's contract, credit terms and certificates live in a different manager's Excel.
Maize, the biggest cost, arrives by truck from mandis and agents. The weighbridge slip is paper, the moisture reading is handwritten, and the rate is settled on the phone. A share of purchases, advances and contractor payments moves in cash. They are real transactions that no auditor can verify.
Tally carries the statutory books. Production, yield, steam and store issues are in logbooks and Excel. The month-end close takes 12 working days because three people reconcile the two by hand.
The listing is planned in two to three years. The merchant banker has listed what SEBI and the exchange will ask for: one ERP as the single source, MIS the board uses, testable internal controls, an audit trail. None of it exists in a form that can be shown.
What we deploy
Agents, not features. Each one is listed when it is live.
Official ERP core
Replaces the Excel order, procurement, production and store files with one system, with Tally kept as the ledger until cut-over. Every weighbridge slip and buyer contract is entered once, at source. Your phone shows procurement tonnes, yield and dispatch by 9 am.
Internal ledger agent
Records every transaction the official system does not yet carry, cash advances and contractor payments included, with date, amount, counterparty and approver. Reconciles them against bank and cash book weekly, so your CA has a complete record to regularise and tax where due. Summary on your phone every Monday.
Boiler and yield agent
Reads steam, fuel and maize-in against starch-out per shift from both boilers. Flags any shift where steam per tonne of starch is more than 4% off the 30-day norm, or yield drops below the agreed floor. Same-morning alert, with shift and operator.
AI audit agent
Runs the internal audit checklist every night: three-way match on purchases, credit limit breaches by buyer, duplicate vendors, unapproved rate changes, cash above the threshold. Monthly report in the format an SME auditor expects, on your desk on the 3rd.
What it saves
Month-end hours. A 12-day close run by three people is roughly 290 person-hours a month. Target: 60% removed within six months.
Audit cost. Reconciled records mean fewer auditor queries, lower fees and less management time. Target: audit queries cut by half in the first full cycle.
Steam and yield. A 1% improvement in starch yield on a plant this size is worth more than most software budgets. Target set against your own last-12-month figures, not an industry number.
The largest saving is the listing itself. A listing that slips a year on inadequate MIS costs more than all of the above. The audit agent exists so the question never arises.
Before we build, we agree one saving in writing with a number against it. If it is not met in 90 days, AgentJi keeps working at no charge for up to 90 more days until it is. The guarantee covers the first agent.
The guarantee
In writing, before we build.
One number for the first agent, how it is measured, and the date. Not met in 90 days from go-live, we keep working at no charge for up to 90 more days until it is.
How the first 30 days go
We visit the plant and sit with the weighbridge clerk, the boiler supervisor and the accounts manager who runs the month-end. We take the Excel files, registers and Tally data as they are.
Boiler and yield agent built from the shift registers. Internal ledger agent scoped with your CFO and merchant banker so the record format matches the listing audit.
Boiler and yield agent live. First 9 am brief. Internal ledger agent recording alongside the cash book.
Weekly brief starts. ERP core scoped module by module, procurement first. Audit checklist agreed with your statutory auditor.
Questions promoters ask
What does an SME listing on NSE Emerge need from our ERP?
The exchange and the merchant banker will ask for an ERP that is the single source for financials, MIS the board uses, internal financial controls that can be tested, and an audit trail. AgentJi builds those four things, in that order, with your auditor's checklist as the specification.
We have a lot of cash transactions. Can that be fixed before a listing or an investor?
It can be brought to a standard the auditor accepts. The internal ledger agent records every cash transaction with counterparty, amount and approver, reconciles it weekly, and gives your CA a complete record to regularise and tax where due. Nothing is hidden. The point is that nothing is missing.
Is an AI audit accepted by auditors and SEBI?
The audit agent does the internal audit work: matching, exception listing, control testing. Your statutory auditor still signs. What changes is that he receives reconciled records and a monthly exception report instead of finding the exceptions himself.
Which ERP for manufacturing industry in India do you deploy?
We fit the ERP to the plant, not the other way round. For a starch plant above ₹1,000 Cr that usually means a mid-market ERP with Tally kept as the ledger until cut-over. We name the product after the week-1 visit, with reasons in writing.
