Services · Tally integration
Tally integration for Indian businesses: agents that read, write and reconcile Tally Prime, so Excel stops being the ERP
- What will be running
- Agents that read Tally Prime hourly, post vouchers with the source attached, reconcile bank, GST and stock, and send the morning report from Tally, not from Excel
- By when
- Reader and morning report live in 30 days; posting and reconciliation in 60
- What it saves
- Target: 60 to 80% of the hours spent moving numbers between Tally and Excel removed, agreed in writing; bank, GST and stock differences listed daily, not at month end

Works with what you already have
What runs on Excel today
Tally is the book of account. Everything that goes into it and comes out of it is Excel. The sales register is exported every Saturday to build the MIS. The bank statement is downloaded, matched to Tally by hand, and the gap is chased on Friday. Stock in Tally has not matched stock in the godown since the last audit. The production head keeps his own sheet because Tally does not know about batches.
The Tally integration tool bought two years ago exported one report; the person who set it up left, and it has not run since.
Three people, three versions of the truth, reconciled at month end.
What we deploy
Agents, not features. Each one is listed when it is live.
Reader agent
What AgentJi reads from Tally: ledgers, vouchers, stock items, outstanding and bank books, hourly, through Tally's own XML and ODBC interfaces. Nothing in Tally changes. Every other agent and every report works from that copy; nobody exports to Excel again.
Posting agent
What AgentJi writes to Tally: purchase vouchers from invoices, sales orders from WhatsApp, receipts from the bank feed, consumption from the production register. Each voucher carries its source document. Anything that fails a rule you set goes to a named person before it is posted, not after.
Reconciliation agent
What AgentJi reconciles: bank statement against Tally bank book, GSTR-2B against the purchase register, Tally stock against the godown register, Tally sales against the dispatch register. Differences listed every morning by party and amount, oldest first.
Reporting agent
What AgentJi reports: daily sales, collections, outstanding by age, cash position, stock by item, on the promoter's phone at 8 am. Built from Tally, not from a sheet, so the accountant and the owner quote the same number.
What it saves
Hours first: the two days a month spent exporting, pasting and re-keying between Tally and Excel go away, and the accountant who could not take leave can. Then money: input tax credit lost to purchase vouchers that never matched GSTR-2B, customer receipts sitting unapplied for weeks, stock differences found in the week they happen instead of at the annual count.
The saving is agreed in writing before AgentJi builds: hours, ITC recovered, days to close. Not met in 90 days: AgentJi keeps working at no charge for up to 90 more days until it is. The guarantee covers the first agent.
The guarantee
In writing, before we build.
One number for the first agent, how it is measured, and the date. Not met in 90 days from go-live, we keep working at no charge for up to 90 more days until it is.
How the first 30 days go
Visit. AgentJi sits with the accounts team for a day and maps every Excel that touches Tally: where its numbers come from, who types them, where they go.
Reader agent live. The morning report arrives from Tally data, read-only. The accountant checks it against the Saturday Excel and marks what is wrong.
Bank reconciliation runs for last month. The difference list is the first result you see. Posting agent runs in shadow on purchase vouchers.
Posting agent live on purchase vouchers. Weekly brief starts. GST and stock reconciliation scoped.

Questions promoters ask
Does Tally have an API?
Yes, though Tally does not call it that. Tally Prime answers XML requests over HTTP on the machine it runs on and exposes ODBC; licensed remote access runs through Tally.NET. AgentJi reads and writes through these, on your licence, with nothing installed inside Tally.
Will the agents change our Tally data?
Only the voucher types you approve, and only after the posting agent has run in shadow for a week. Every voucher the agent posts carries its source document, and Tally's own alteration history shows which entries the agent made.
We run several company files and customised TDLs. Is that a problem?
No. Most clients do. AgentJi reads each company file separately and consolidates in the report. Custom TDLs are read as they are and do not need changing.
What does Tally integration cost?
An implementation fee per agent and a monthly maintenance fee, quoted in writing after a visit. Against the hours two accountants spend moving numbers between Tally and Excel, the reader and morning report usually pay for themselves inside the first quarter. See how we charge.
